Spencer DeFriese

Spencer DeFriese, 74, of East Ridge, passed away peacefully Monday Dec. 3, 2018, surrounded by family. He was born to the late Sarah and Leonard DeFriese. Spencer was a great and wonderful man and his career included United Enertech, Engineering Sales; Hobbs & Associates, Air Distribution Sales, Sheet Metal Industrial, United Sheet Metal Company, Mechanical Contacting, Co owner; N & S Property Rentals/Construction, Co owner. Education: Central High School and Engineering Studies at UTC. He was preceded in death by his mother Sarah DeFriese, who served in the Hamilton County Registrar of Deeds and father Leonard DeFriese. Survivors include his wife Nancy (Cheek) Mercer-DeFriese; Sister Frankie (Larry) Bobo; Children,: Renee (Robert) Walker, Rodney (Keli) DeFriese, Rodney's Daughters: Rachel (Avery) Sexton: great grandchild Everett; Chelsie (Josh) Cureton: great grandchildren - Hayden and Blakeleigh. Step Children: Gregory Mercer, Brent Mercer, grandchildren: Makenia and Caden Mercer Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, and from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday.
