Caroline Blumenberg

Caroline (Katie) Scott Blumenberg departed this world in the peaceful assurance of eternal life on Dec. 12, 2018. Her life was filled with 91 years of love, laughter and service. Katie was an avid homemaker and shared her love of baking with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved butter cookies dipped in chocolate and butter pecan ice cream. She often started her day with a morning walk, swim or bike ride. For more than 50 years, she ministered alongside her husband in the Adventist Church in New Jersey, Michigan, Washington and Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Lewis Blumenberg Sr.; her parents, Alphonse and Natalie Gosselin; her brother, Ronald Gosselin; her grandsons, Chad and Amiel Sisler; and great-grandson, Kole McCoy. She is survived by her brother, Raymond Gosselin (PA); her sisters, Audrey Seifert (MT) and June DeVincent (FL); her children, Linda (David) Raymer (GA), Lewis (Patricia) Blumenberg, Jr. (TN), Chana Feldman (Israel), Jeff (Sharon) Blumenberg (TN); grandchildren, Kim Sturm (TN), Michelle Clinton (TN), Jason Sturm (GA), Becky (Neil) Jackson (TN), Brian (Tiffany) Blumenberg (TN), Beverly (James) Shaffer (TN), Brett Sisler (WV), Shana (Matt) Bobbitt (WA), Wesley (Joannie) Blumenberg (OR), Stephani (Scott) McCoy (FL), Hans (Stephanie) Linna (TN) and Jaana Linna (TN); great-grandchildren, Cooper and Noah Blumenberg, Ethan, Evan and Tristan Shaffer, Nathan (Tera) Recchia, Nevin (Whitney) Recchia, Joshua Clinton, Natalie, Melia and Benson Blumenberg, Levi and Ellie Mae Bobbitt, Knox McCoy and Jude Linna. A private graveside service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018, in Dunlap, Tenn. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Chattanooga. Thank you to the staff at Hospice of Chattanooga for the loving care of our beloved Mom and Grandmother. But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For those we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God, and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore, comfort one another with these words. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.
