Augusta Barley

FORT OGLETHORPE — Augusta Barley, 94, of Ft. Oglethorpe went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 14, 2018, at a local health care facility. Mrs. Barley was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia area where she was of the Baptist faith and past member of the Delray Baptist Church. Mrs. Barley loved her family, had a heart for others, and was always looking for ways to help the needy. She enjoyed Blue Grass Music, camping, and spring flowers. She was preceded in death by her husband, A.C. Barley; son, Jerry Barley; and five brothers and sisters. Survivors include her sons, Garry Barley, Allen Barley, and Chris Barley; two brothers, Johnnie and Dewain Tate; sister, Neta Faye Wills; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Condolences may be sent to www.lane-southcrestchapel.com. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Chaplain Ray Mabe officiating. Interment will follow in the Lakewood South Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
