Ruth Huff

Ruth Edna Bible Huff, passed away on Dec., 29, 2018, at the age of 87, surrounded by her family and friends. A native of Rising Fawn, Georgia, she was born on Jan. 20, 1931. She graduated from Dade High School as Salutatorian of the Class of 1948. A devoted homemaker and active in her church and community, she served as a youth leader, PTA President and Girl Scout leader for many years. Being an organic farmer before it became fashionable; Ruth enjoyed fishing on Chickamauga Lake and taking long drives in the country on a Sunday afternoon. One of her favorite pastimes was crocheting, making afghans for everyone, and delicate laces that adorned many items in her home. The role she treasured the most was that of grandmother, sharing her wisdom and many talents with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Gordon Bible and Edith LaDora Warren Bible; siblings, Charles Gordon Bible, Jr., Raymond Warren Bible, Morris Lloyd Stevens Bible, Emma Jane Bible Holmes, Dorothy Edith Bible Steele, James Royce Bible and Mary Elizabeth Bible Shipley. Survivors include her daughter, Patricia LaDora Huff Rose; son-n-law, Dr. David Allen Rose, Signal Mountain, Tenn.; grandchildren, Alexandra Woods Rose, Jordan Michael Rose and Katherine Lizbeth Rose; sister, Elsie Susan Bible Walden, Rossville, Ga.; nephew, Steven Wendell Shipley (Vicki), Soddy Daisy, Tenn. and a large family of nieces, nephews and cousins. She cherished the many lasting friendships she has made over the years with her special caregivers and looked forward to daily visits from family and friends. Her spunk and wit always enlivened the days of those around her. Her life remains an inspiration to all who knew and loved her. Services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 31, 2018, with the Reverend Kate Stulce officiating. A visitation will be held on Monday prior to the service from 2:30 p.m to 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
