Clyde Boyd

JASPER — William Clyde Boyd, 94, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, in a Chattanooga hospital. The son of the late William Reece and Bessie Brown Boyd, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Church of Christ in Jasper, Tenn., and a lifelong farmer. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Emma Potter Boyd, and second wife, Peggy Coffey Wynne Boyd; sisters, Iva Lee Stewart, Mildred Crouch, and Doris Hardaway; brothers, Paul Boyd and Vernon Boyd; and step-son, Brian Wynne. He is survived by his children, Elizabeth Ann (Gene) Mitchell, of Marietta, Ga., and Paul (Polly) Boyd, of Hixson, Tenn.; grandson, Patrick (Amber) Boyd, of East Ridge, Tenn.; sisters, Virginia Lyons, of Tampa, Fla., and Faye Lofty, of Kimball, Tenn.; sister-in-law, Alice Boyd, of Detroit, Mich.; stepson, Robby (Sara) Wynne; stepgrandchildren, Allan Wynne, Jessica Wynne, Brittany (Matt) Norwalk, and Brianna Wynne; stepdaughter-in-law, Angela Wynne, of Cookeville, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home at 11 a.m. CT on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, with Tim Storey, officiating. Interment will follow at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, Tenn. The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. CT on Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, and for one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
