Eugenia Schillaci

Eugenia Pyle Schillaci, age 87, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018. She was born to Richard and Cecelia Santa Maria in Bayshore, Long Island, New York. Jean is a former resident of Chattanooga, Tenn., started the flower department in all the Red Food Stores and also was in many bridge clubs. She then moved to Ft. Walton Beach in 1995. She was active in the Okaloosa Island Garden Club serving as treasurer for many years. She was former president of New Neighbors, volunteered for Sharing and Caring and quite active in the El Matador Condo Association. While in Chattanooga she was a member of St. John Methodist Church and in Ft. Walton Beach she was a member of First Methodist Church. She loved living at the beach, loved to play bridge, enjoyed traveling and was a member of the Red Hat Society. She loved her family and all her many friends. In 2013 she moved back to Chattanooga due to health reasons, but was happy to be closer to her family. She enjoyed living in Elmcroft Assisted Living and also Morning Pointer Collegedale Assisted Living. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Paul Martin; her husband of 39 years, Jack L. Pyle; her second husband of eight months, Donald J. Schillaci; her son, Scott L. Pyle and her grandson, Derrick S. Holder. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Rick) Holder; daughter-in-law, Cindy Pyle and her four grandchildren, Colin (Amy) Pyle, Kelli (Jay) Donnelly, Brandon (Laura) Pyle and Courtney Pyle; great-grandchildren, Emily (Shane) Brooks, Jacob Pyle, Rylan Pyle, Brody Pyle, Savannah Pyle, Jack Donnelly, Holder Donnelly and Patrick Donnelly and several special nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018 at 1 p.m. at the North Chapel with Rev. Carl Blackburn officiating. A committal service will be held after at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
