Marvin Etherton, Jr. went home to his heavenly father, Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, at 9:30 a.m. He was 82-years-old. Marvin was a resident of Lupton City where he was employed with Dixie Yarns for 42 years. A beloved father and grandfather, he had a gift for music and a talent to express his love and passion. His music and instrumental talent designing his own instruments will forever live; and be truly missed, in those who knew him. Our comfort knows he is playing beautiful tunes in heaven. He will be forever loved. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Mamie Etherton; sisters, Lonie Smith Sara Pelfrey, Flossie Winnie, Virnie Edwards, and Jewell Rothwell; brother, Frank Etherton; and grandson, Marvin Brandon. Survivors include his wife, Sally Etherton; daughters, Cathy McJunkin, Wilma Pucillo, Elsie (Tim) Lane; son, David R. Etherton; siblings, Edward, Eva Jean, Ronnie and Archie Etherton; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, with Rev. Richard Horner officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, from noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
