Willie Mae Fields

Willie Mae Fields departed this life, Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2018, at the age of 88. She was born in Chattanooga, Tenn., to the late Elgie and Lena Henderson Hooker. She was preceded in death by sons, John and James Owens; daughter, Barbara Keltch; and brothers, Jim and Buddy Hooker. She is survived by husband, Joe Fields; sons, Arthur, Tammy and Paul Owens, of Arkansas; daughters, Dorothy Clevenger (Henry), Mae Jones (Larry); sisters, C. Dene Standefer (T.W.); as well as 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A devoted wife and loving mother; she enjoyed sewing and tending to her flowers before her failing health. She and Joe shared many times listening to gospel and bluegrass music. The family will receive friends and loved ones from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at Welch Rogers Cemetery at 1 p.m. on Friday.
