Edwin Burke

Edwin Lawrence Burke III (Larry), born March 2, 1955, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018. Larry was a kind gentleman with a heart of gold. Larry moved to Chattanooga in 1976, roaring into town in his 1970 Camaro. He fell in love with this beautiful city and made Chattanooga his home. Larry was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church where he was a Eucharistic minister. He was an avid reader and remained loyal to the heritage of his parents perfecting Louisiana cooking. Larry was involved in dog rescue and fostered many animals in need. He also enjoyed spending time with his two dogs, two cats, and four cockatoos. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Lynn Fant-Burke; his mother, Nellie Adams Burke; his brothers, Pat (Becky) and Jeff (Vicki); sister, Reenie (Vince); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Edwin Lawrence Burke IV (Sonny) and father Edwin Lawrence Burke Jr. Memorial service will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Soddy Daisy on March 2, 2018, at 2 p.m. Larry will be laid to rest in the Memorial Gardens at Brainerd United Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the ALS Foundation at ALSTN.org.
