Lavada Barnes

RINGGOLD — Lavada Sue Waters Barnes, 75, passed away Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017. A lifelong resident of the North Georgia, Chattanooga area, she was the bookkeeper for Darrell Barnes Trucking for 25 years. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Waters; mother, Eloise Lowe Pierce; sister, Edith Pierce and brother, Steve Waters. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Darrell Barnes of Ringgold; son, Donald L. Flynn of Ringgold; two step-sons, Howard Barnes of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., and Scott Barnes of Dalton, Ga.; two sisters, Helen Porter of Ringgold, and Deb Shirley of Dayton, Tenn.; two brothers, Ronnie Pierce of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., and David Pierce of Chattanooga; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Shane Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. until funeral time at the funeral home.
