Lannie Ikard
ALTO — Watson-North Funeral Home is honored to be of service and ministry to the family of Mr. Lannie Looney Ikard, 91, of Alto. Mr. Ikard passed from this life
on Jan. 10, 2018, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System in Winchester.
Those who had the honor of knowing Mr. Ikard, will remember him as a loving husband, father, grandfather, life-long farmer, and friend to many. He was a lifelong Methodist, an active and long term member and Sunday School teacher at Alto United Methodist Church. He served as the former president of the Franklin County Farm Bureau, as well as the Franklin County Farmer’s Co-op. Mr. Ikard was also a member of NARFE.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys May Looney and his father, J. L. Ikard; sister, Martha Ellen (George) Smith; brother, Newell Standifer Ikard.
He is survived by his wife of more than 69 years, Betty Lucas Ikard; daughters, Rena (Danny) O’Connor, of Knoxville and Lannette (the Rev. Randy)
Dunnavant, of Nolensville; son, Lanson (Shirley) Ikard, of Murfreesboro; nephew,
Stephen (Gwyn) Smith, of Lafayette, La.; grandchildren, Beth (Sam) Sunderland,
Laura (Jim) Newman, Jessica Dunnavant, Jennifer (Anthony) Reda; great-grandchildren, Josh (Erica), Kaitlin, Lathan, Lexi, Sadie, Austin, Ella, Oliver, Addie, Nora, and Gus; great-great-granddaughter, Annistyn, and other nieces and
nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, from 11 a.m.
until 1 p.m. at Watson-North Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Jeremy Taylor of Alto United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Garner Cemetery in Decherd.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jim Newman, Sam Sunderland, Josh Wallace, Danny O’Connor, Phillip Duncan and Randy Buckner.
