Timothy Nichols

RINGGOLD — Timothy Dale Nichols “Timmy”, 24, formerly of Trenton, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018. Timmy was a lifelong resident of North Georgia, was a 2011 graduate of Dade County High School where he was elected Prom King, and was a member of Trenton United Methodist Church. Timmy played basketball for Orange Grove and he also worked at Orange Grove where he was responsible for various jobs. Timmy lit up a room with his smile, he loved his family and friends dearly, and he was an avid Alabama Football fan. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Melvin Leon Jones; paternal grandfather, Dale Edward Nichols; paternal step-grandfather, Kenneth Cecil Smith; and uncle, Timothy Craig Jones. Survivors include his parents, Edward Lee Nichols and Tammy Lisa Nichols; sister, Brittney Dawn Flick (Brandon Cloud); brother, Alex Lee Nichols; nephew, Jaxon Isaiah Brown; maternal grandmother, Lila Jean Jones; paternal grandmother, Georgia Cecil Nichols Hinds; paternal step-grandfather, Eugene Hinds; aunt, Sondra Conner (Jim Conner); uncle, Jeff Jones (Stacy Jones); and cousins, Katie Jones (Tashad Thomas), Wes Jones (Courtney Jones), Jamie Conner (Anton Jones), Nick Conner (Brittany Conner), Bella Jones, Naomi Thomas, and Sawyer Jones. In lieu of flowers the family asks to make a donation in memory of Timmy to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org and note that the donation is to specifically go towards testicular cancer research. Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, at 1 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Pastor Reece Faucett and Coach James Goad officiating. Interment will follow in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4 to 8p.m. at the funeral home. There will be a Celebration of Life service for Timmy Sunday, Jan. 21 at the Trenton UMC at 11 a.m. Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
