Terry Bivens

Terry Lee Bivens, 67, of Chattanooga, passed away Jan. 27, 2018. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Wynona Bivens, Sr.; and daughter, Amanda Bivens. He is survived by his daughter, Angela Bivens; brothers, Jerry (Janice) Bivens of Whitwell and Mark (Dale) Bivens of Soddy-Daisy; sister, Joyce (Eddie) Hixson of Dayton; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Terry grew up in Dayton. He joined the Army in 1967 where he was stationed in South Korea as a crew chief in the helicopter squad which brought back the crew of the USS Pueblo. His crew also carried the U.S.O. tour with Ann Margaret which he loved to talk about. Terry was a boilermaker with Union Local 454, He owned and operated Terrace Shop Easy and later Neighbors Lounge which he ran for over 20 years. Terry was an avid pool player. Known as Tennessee Terry, he won the State Nine Ball Championship qualifying for the U.S. Open twice and finishing in the top 25 each time. An avid golfer, he has been a member of Rivermont G&CC and Creek's Bend G&CC. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018 at Legacy Funeral Home and Cremation Center from 3 to 7 p.m. A graveside service with military honors will be held Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018 at 11 a.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Amedysis Hospice or the Disabled American Veterans.
