P. McKeehan

On July 1, 2018 Heaven welcomed one of its own. A man who committed his entire life to spreading the good news of Jesus Christ to all. As a pastor his actions solidified his unwavering faith and steadfast belief in Christ. It is our families hope that he be remembered for his ability to share seemly unending stories, his cheerful personality and gracious presence with those he encountered. Richard, 84, enjoyed the hobbies of his woodworking shop, hunting, fishing and the great outdoors. He was a mason and lectured just before his death about “a man’s word was absolute and could never be broken”. He lived according to God’s teaching and the Masonic principles that guided his life. Reverend McKeehan was pastor at Lebanon Baptist Church for 33 years and for the last year pastored New Shepherd Baptist Church in Harrison. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Rufus and Evelyn Maxwell McKeehan; daughter, Leslie McKeehan, and sister, Carolyn Gamble. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Sallie Swanola McKeehan of Harrison; son, Thomas McKeehan (Kym) of Sanibel Island, FL; two grandchildren, Angie Lively McKinney (Jeff) of Harrison, and Chip Lively of Harrison; three great grandchildren, Nathan McKinney, Colby McKinney, and Lacie McKinney; sister, Barbara McConkey (Jim) of Athens; brother, George McKeehan (Mary) of Madisonville. A graveside service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery. His family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service. The family suggests memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6221 Shallowford Rd. #102, Chattanooga, TN 37421 or charitable organization of choice. We invite you to send a message of condolence and view the McKeehan family guestbook at www.fikefh.com Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
