Arthur White
Arthur Carlton White Sr, 89, was called home to be with The Lord on Saturday,
June 16, 2018. His faith in God brought him through many trials in life.
Arthur was known as a Southern gentleman because of his warm and gentle
spirit. He had a caring heart which made him a devoted husband, father and a
friend to many. He passed as he lived, quietly and peacefully at Billings Clinic in
Billings, Montana
Mr. White was born at Bone Cave, Tennessee to James Dallas White and Ova
Elizabeth Simmons on May 13, 1929. He is preceded in death by his brothers and
sisters and his wife, Frances Rebecca Womack White of 56 years. Survivors
include three sons, Arthur Carlton White, Jr. of San Francisco, California, Edward
Timothy White (Laura White) of Billings, Montana, and Brian Dewitt White of
Memphis, Tennessee, six grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Arthur was a long-time member of the Church of God of Prophecy at Ridgedale
and at East Ridge. He was also a graduate of
Van Buren County High School in Spencer, Tennessee. He previously worked
thirty-eight years in the dental supply business in Chattanooga, Tenn., with Keener Dental and Patterson Dental.
A memorial service will be held July 11, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the East Chapel of
the Chattanooga Funeral Home on S. Moore Rd in East Ridge with Reverend Doug
Stephenson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 10 a.m. Graveside services will follow at 3 p.m. (Central Time) at the Laurel Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Van Buren County.
