David Meador

CLEVELAND — David Eugene Meador of Cleveland, 78, known to friends as "Gene," died at his home, Thursday, July 5, 2018. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Carrie Elizabeth, daughter Heather Dvorak (Brian), son David Meador II (Jennifer), and grandchildren, Aaron & Elijah Meador, and Katyana Dvorak. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Howard & Katharine Meador and brothers, Howard Meador and Thomas Lyons. Gene retired from the insurance industry and was very active in his church and the different Masonic Bodies. The highlight of his Masonic activities was being Illustrious Grand Chaplain of Tennessee and receiving Associate Regent/Holder of the Purple Cross within Cherokee York Rite College. He was a member of Brainerd Lodge #736, Conasauga Lodge #396, and Meridian Sun #50. A Celebration of David Eugene Meador's Life will be held on Sunday, July 8, at 4 p.m. with visitation from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Chestuee United Methodist Church, 883 Chestuee RD NE, Cleveland, Tenn. 37323. Officiating will be the Reverend Kenneth Scoggins and Reverend Terry Plemons. Memorial donations may be made in his name to Chestuee United Methodist Church. A private burial service will be at a later date.
