Betty Calloway

Betty L. Calloway, 78, departed this life on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018. She was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and received her early education from the Chattanooga public schools. She graduated from Howard High School in 1957. Betty retired from Erlanger Health Systems where she worked with Erlanger’s Home Health Agency as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Captain Paul R. Calloway. She is survived by daughters, Linda Kirk (Liddell Kirk Jr.), Karen Calloway and Kathy Calloway-Sykes; grandchildren, Makalah Roberts and Thomas Sykes; niece, Victoria Smith; sister, Deborah Hopkins Smith; brother, James Hopkins; and a host of extended family and friends. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Forest Hills Cemetery at 10 a.m. The body will lie-in-state after noon on Friday, March 2, with family visitation being held from 6 to 8 p.m. Arrangements by John P.
