Jerry Presley

Jerry Lamar Presley, 77, passed away on Mar. 18, 2018 and entered the gates of Heaven. Jerry was an outstanding athlete in boxing and baseball. He was the Golden Gloves Welter-Weight champion in 1960 & 1961 in Georgia. Jerry was inducted into the Berry High School/Academy Sports Hall of Fame. He was retired from C.F. Industries and Oak Ridge National Laboratories. He was a Christian and of the Baptist faith. Jerry and twin brother Jesse coached the Bonny Oaks School boxing team in the 60’s. Jerry also played on the Bonny Oaks fastball team. He was a loving person who put others first. He is survived by his children, Eric Presley and Janice Presley; grandchildren, Austin Presley, Alex Presley, Jacqueline McQueeney and Madison Sweeney; great-grandchildren, Mason and Sadie Presley; his beloved twin brother, Jessie (Pauline) Presley; sister, Linda (Max) Taliaferro; brothers, Bobby Thomas and Joe Presley; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased in death by his father, Jesse James Presley; mother, Corrine Presley; brothers, Jesse Carl Presley and James Presley. He is loved and will be missed by many. Visitation will be Tuesday, Mar. 20, 2018, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home, Hwy 58. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, March 21, at 4 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home.
