WHITWELL — Carolyn Layne Terry, 69, passed away Monday March 19, 2018, at her home surrounded by family. Mrs. Terry was preceded in death by her parents, Barney and Nannie Layne; sister, Ann Carr; grandparents, Roy and Alma Hamblen, Foster and Mary Layne. She was retired from Memorial Hospital working as a nurse for 27 years. She was a member of South Whitwell Baptist Church. Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of 53 years, Roy Terry; three children, Roy L. Terry, of Walling, Tenn., Ronnie (Christie) Terry, of Dunlap, Tenn., Beth (Nathan) Powell, of Whitwell; sister, Kathy (David) Walden, of Whitwell; brother, Troy Layne, of Cartwright; four grandchildren, Bodie Terry, Ryker Terry, Jordan Powell, and Mia Powell; nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Family will receive friends 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2018, and noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018, at the South Whitwell Baptist Church with Channing Kilgore and Roy L. Terry officiating. Rev. Darrell Winters officiating at Graveside.
