Tom Gardehire

Tom Morris Gardenhire Sr., 84, East Ridge, passed away March 21, 2018. Tom was born Aug. 15, 1933, to William Dowlin and Alice Wilson Gardenhire. He was a graduate of Central High School and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Tom served in the U.S. Army. He was in real estate, home building and owned/operated the Red Top Furniture and Hobby Shop. Tom was a member of Jones Memorial United Methodist Church. Tom was preceded in death by his first wife, Gillie Yvonne Carter Gardenhire; son, Michael Carter Gardenhire; sister, Ellen Frances Garvey; brothers, Shirley Eldridge Gardenhire and William Dowlin Gardenhire. Survivors are his wife of 10 years, Joyce Harvey Gardenhire; daughter, Denise Angela Pugsley (David); son, Tom Morris Gardenhire Jr. (Paige); grandchildren, Amanda Pugsley, Brooke Pugsley, Catherine Pugsley, Deanna Brown (Stephen), Tate Gardenhire, Tom Morris Gardenhire III, Trell Gardenhire, Graham Steakley, Elijah Gardenhire; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday, March 24, 2018, at 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be private.
