James Stansell

James Thomas Stansell, 89, died April 5, 2018, at the Idaho State Veteran's Home in Boise. As a young man, James enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served for nearly 30 years. After this, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service, then retired to the Chattanooga area. Once retired, he began volunteering at the VA Clinic and became their longest serving volunteer! James worked tirelessly to help other people and to provide for his family; he was great man who loved his country, his family, bowling, and baseball. James was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Susie Stansell; and all sisters and brothers except one. He was survived by his wife, Norma Stansell; daughter, Debbie (Scott) Hale; sons, Randy (Sandra) and Rick (Cindy); brother, Sam; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the Chattanooga National Cemetery, 1200 Bailey Avenue on Thursday, May 24, 2018, at 9:30 a.m.
