Ogden Boon

Ogden Eugene “Gene” Boon, 79, of Ooltewah, Tenn., passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018. Gene was born in Greenville, MS where he was a graduate of Greenville High School. He served in the Army National Guard. Later, he met the love of his life Betsy. After a successful career as the District Representative for the Internal Revenue Service, he retired in 1997. He loved antique cars, camping, motorcycles, and volunteering at church. He was a member of Ooltewah Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ogden Eugene Boon Sr. and Eunice Boon Jordan. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Betsy Boon; sons, Steve (Vicki) Boon and David (Heather) Boon; grandchildren, William, Caleb, Avery, and Skyler Boon. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 17, at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Gideons International (www.gideons.org/donate). The family will receive friends on Saturday, Nov. 17, from 10 a.m. until 12 noon at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
