Derace Holmes

TRENTON — Derace Lamar Holmes, 76, passed away at his residence, Tuesday morning, Nov. 20, 2018. Mr. Holmes was a retired electrician for TVA, Widows Creek Power Plant. He was a Vietnam veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force, a member of the IBEW local 175 of Chattanooga, Tenn., a member of the Trenton Masonic Lodge #179 F&AM, and a member of the Saint Elmo United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by his parents, Newton Earl and Lettie Mae Oliver Holmes; wife, Loretta Ann Holmes; brother, David Holmes. Surviving include his wife, Brenda Sue Holmes, of Trenton, Ga.; daughter, Selina (Mark) Gill, of Wildwood, Ga.; son, Daniel (Tammy) Holmes, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; son, Caleb (Ashlyn), of Trenton, Ga.; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; stepdaughter, Beverly Floyd, of Trenton, Ga.; stepsons, Jeff and Greg Mitchell both, of Trenton, Ga.; adopted son, Mark Patterson, of Trenton, Ga. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018, in the chapel with Rev. Darrell Davenport officiating. Interment will follow in Sarah Chapel Cemetery.
