Stan Braley

MACON — Rev. Stan Braley, 54, passed away Friday, Nov. 23, 2018. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Centenary United Methodist Church. The Rev. Kadar Jones, the Rev. Johnny Pierce and Dr. Tim Bagwell will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service in the Round Room. Rev. Braley graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga and a master’s degree in Theology from New Orleans Baptist Seminary. He was a minister at Concord Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tenn. He then worked for the Baptist Association in Hamilton County, Tenn., as well as, acted as the part-time director for the Baptist Student Union at Chattanooga State College. He was also the former minister at White Oak Baptist Church in Chattanooga before finally coming to Macon as the minister at Mt Zion Baptist Church. Most recently, Reverend Braley was employed at GEICO. Rev. Braley was preceded in death by his father, Roy Lee Braley. Rev. Braley is survived by his wife of 31 years, Bridget Braley, of Macon; sons, Spencer (Catherine) Braley, of Macon and Andrew (Emily Ivey) Braley, of Salt Lake City, Utah; grandson, Beau Braley; mother, Barbara Braley; sisters, Melody (Steve) Clinton, of Ringgold, Ga., and Dawn (Weston) Brown, of Ringgold; nieces and nephews, Becky Clinton, Scottie Clinton, Emmaline Brown and Will Brown.
