Charles Voigt

DAYTON — Charles Preston Voigt, 66, of Dayton TN passed away Sunday morning, October 21, 2018 at his home. Charles was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dayton. He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He raised and sold beef cattle on his farm in Niota, TN and he also built and sold houses in Dayton and Spring City. He is preceded in death by his parents, Virginia and Preston William (Bill) Voigt Jr., and his brother- in-law Paul Gass. He is survived by his daughters, Jillian (Kevin) Tillman of Murfreesboro, TN and Kristin (Domingo Mendez) Voigt of Palm Harbor, FL; grandchildren, Finleigh and Piper Tillman of Murfreesboro, TN, Alyse Mendez of Palm Harbor, FL; sisters, Kay (Gary) Hicks of Knoxville, TN, Sandra Gass of Dayton, TN; nephews, Jeff (Angie) Hicks and Jason (Jennifer) Hicks both of Knoxville, TN; Aunt, Frances Watt of Ooltewah, TN and several cousins. Special thanks to friend and caregiver Nancy Bailey who was so good to him. Services will be Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 1:00pm in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Akers and Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald officiating.
