Ralph Foster
Mr. Ralph R. Foster, 74, of Ooltewah, Tenn., passed away on Saturday,
Oct. 27, 2018. Ralph was born in Shelbyville, Tenn. to the late Robert
and Ruby Foster. He graduated from Bell Buckle High School and then from MTSU as a Chemistry major. Ralph served as a combat medic in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was an industrial coating
salesman for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and
golfing. He and Sara also enjoyed square dancing for many years. In early retirement, Ralph and Sara enjoyed several cross country RV trips, including to Alaska. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Sara Foster;
daughter, Jennifer Mills and husband, Joe of Charleston, S.C.; sister, Jane Butler (Wendell) of Shelbyville, Tenn.; twin brother, Robert Lee Foster Jr.
(Yvonne) of Brentwood, Tenn.; brother, Alton Foster (Evie) of Florence, Ala.;
brother, Roger Foster (Micki) of Blountville, Tenn.; and several nephews
and nieces. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and
Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home Valley View Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Chattanooga
National Cemetery with military honors. For those who wish, memorial
contributions may be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association in
Ralph’s memory. Arrangements are under the care of the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 7414 Old Lee Hwy. Please share
