Ida Gilbert

Ida Mae Gilbert departed this life at the age of 82, August 29, 2018. She was born in Chattanooga, Tenn. on November 9, 1935, to the late Orange and Ina Neal. She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Lamar R. Gilbert, grandmother, Mamie L. Neal, brother, Edward Neal, and step-mother, Mollie Neal. She is survived by her sons: Ronald (Carol) Gilbert, Russell (Terri) Gilbert, Ricardo Gilbert, Richard (Juaquia) Gilbert; daughter, Edithe J. Gilbert; brother, Eugene Neal, sister, Peggy Miller, grandchildren: Nicole, Jay, T-ran, Skieree, Gabrielle, Whitney, Jennifer and Jillian; Nephews: Gerald(Bonnie) McKissic, Harry M. Johnson; niece Melvenor (Vincent) Griggs, fourtneengreat grandchildren and a multitude of other relatives and friends. The body will lie in state beginning at 12 noon Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 5, at New City Fellowship, 2424 E. 3rd St., Chattanooga, Tenn. 37404. Interment: Shepherd Community Cemetery. Arrangements by John P.
