Mary Sue Rankin

WHITWELL — Mary Sue Rankin, 72, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018. She was preceded in death by parents, McKinley and Ollie Layne; sister, Sadie Kilgore; brothers, Mac Layne, Harold D. Layne. Ms. Rankin was a member of Layne’s Chapel Church. Those left to cherish her memories are two children, Barry Rankin, of Chattanooga, Troy Rankin, of Whitwell; sisters, Joyce (Jay) Ruth, Bonnie (James) Kilgore: brother, Roger Layne, of Whitwell; grandchildren, Seth Rankin; special friend, James Roberts and Faye Haskew; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Family will receive friends, 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018. Funeral services will be noon Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ronnie Vandergriff officiating. Interment at Layne’s Chapel Cemetery.
