Eleanor Ulin

Eleanor (Ellie) Ulin, 96, passed away on Sept. 2, 2018, in Tucson, Ariz. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 75 years, A. Steven Ulin; brother, Alan Goldblatt and sister, Ann Kahn. She is survived by three children, Joy (Paul) Greenberg, of Tucson, Rosalind (John) Mellen, of Seattle, and David (Nancy) Ulin, of Maui; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Adele Baras, of Birmingham, Ala. Ellie was born in Philadelphia, Pa., to Paul and Esther Goldblatt on March 21, 1922, and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania. She married her brother’s best friend, Steve, and moved with him to Chattanooga, Tenn., where he practiced medicine for 50 years. She was a reference librarian at the Chattanooga Public Library for over 20 years. Ellie served as president of the Woman’s Voters. She was a member of B’nai Zion Congregation in Chattanooga and Temple Emanuel in Tucson.
