Tonya Sue Gilliam

ROSSVILLE — Tonya Sue Gilliam, 76, passed away on Monday, Sept. 10, 2018. Tonya was born and raised on Lookout Mountain and moved to Rossville in 1964. She was a lifetime member of Lookout Mountain United Methodist Church. Tonya lived life to the fullest with her simple pleasures; listening to gospel music and being with her family. She made many contributions to the lives of others by telling them about her faith in God. She was preceded in death by her husband J.O. Gilliam; parents, Ida Sue Martin and Harold L. Martin. Survivors include son, Lanny J. Gilliam, son, Butch (Janet) Gilliam, daughter, Cindy (Stacy) Youngblood; grandchildren, Brandon Gilliam, Jeremiah (Brittany) Gilliam, Dillon Youngblood, Tye Youngblood, Meagan Gilliam; great-grandchildren, Brayden Gilliam, Hunter Gilliam, and Cole Gilliam; siblings, Buddy (Betty) Martin, Dee Martin. Because of Tonya’s wishes to give back, she has donated her body to Emory University School of Medicine. The family will have a memorial service in the near future.
