Frances Parris

Frances Millikan Parris, 95, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on August 3, 2019. Frances was a retired teacher with the Hamilton County Schools, active member and choir vocalist at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Chattanooga Music Club, National Association Retired Federal Employees (NARFE), worked at Contact and English teacher of internationals. She is a graduate and Vols fan of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she was active in Baptist Student Union, the University Chorus and Delta Zeta sorority. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Ray Parris, and two brothers Oscar and Garnett Millikan of Knoxville. She is survived by her four children, Lowell Parris, Diana Turley (Mark), Charles Parris (Laura) and Patrick Parris (Karen); seven grandchildren, Christopher Turley, Jennifer Headrick (Daniel); Andrew Parris (Rachael) and Logan Parris; Jonathan Parris, Elizabeth Runion (Charlie) and Benjamin Parris (Caitlyn). Great grandchildren, Audrey Parris, Carson and Connor Headrick, and Daphne Runion. Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm Thursday, August 8, 2019 at the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1505 N. Moore Rd., Chattanooga, TN 37411 with Dr. Gary Carver and Dr. Courtney Krueger officiating. Family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until time of service Thursday at the church. Memorial gifts may be made to First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
