Herman Trotz

Herman Boruch Trotz, 94, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2019, in Atlanta, while surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Warsaw, Poland on July 5, 1925 to Rivka and Yankov Tracz. He came to Chattanooga in 1938 at the age of 13, to live with his aunt and uncle who later adopted him. He was a graduate of Chattanooga High School, and he became a successful residential and commercial building contractor for over 55 years, earning a reputation for always treating his customers right. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Shriner's and American Legion. He was a long-time member of B'nai Zion Congregation. He was loved by many for his kindness, sense of humor, and his willingness to help others. He was also known to be most proud of his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rivka and Yankov Tracz, and Ella and Harry Trotz,; sisters: Feiga Tracz and Shirley Trotz Posner, of blessed memory. He is survived by his loving wife, of 62 years, Dorothy Parker Trotz; daughter, Ronni Beker (David), of Marietta, Georgia; sons: Eric Trotz (Blair) and Corey Trotz (Mary) of Memphis, Tennessee; 7 grandchildren: Joseph Beker (Jenna), Alissa Selby (Dave), Parker, Emily, and Ethan Trotz, Ella and Calder Trotz and 1 great-grandson, Eli Selby. He is also survived by a brother, Dr. Samuel Trotz (Dr. Viv) of Falmouth, Massachusetts and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
