Ledman Wright

Ledman K. Wright, 66, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2019, at his home. A native of Chattanooga, he went to elementary school and then Headland High school in East Point, Ga. Having explored many opportunities, Ledman served in the U.S. Navy from 1986 to 1992. While in the Navy, serving on the USS Saipan, Ledman was twice awarded the Second Good Conduct Medal and a Meritorious Unit Commendation among other recognitions. Upon his military retirement, he settled in East Tennessee, Etowah, and then Chattanooga. Ledman was a 32 degree Mason and affiliated with lodges in Lucasville, Ohio and southeast Tennessee. Ledman loved music and was exceptionally talented. He could play any instrument put in his hands. He was most recently doing further formal education in oboe at UTC where he was a member of the UTC Orchestra and Pep Band. He was devoted to his faith and attended the Church of the Redeemer in Chattanooga. He was preceded in death by his parents, William W. and Mary Dove W. Wright. Survivors are his brother, Winston William Wright, New York City, N.Y.; cousins, Kim W. Coffey, Ooltewah and Lori W. Barton, Chattanooga along with their families; aunt, Betty B. Whaley, Chattanooga. Graveside services will be held Monday, Feb. 4, at 1 p.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the UC Foundation % Music Dept.
