Roy Sharp

DAYTON — Roy Malcolm Sharp, 77, passed away Jan. 9, 2019, at his home in Dayton, Tenn. Roy was a 1959 graduate of Rhea Central High School and a member of First Baptist Church of Dayton. He was a former resident of Hixson, Tenn., and Savannah, Ga. He worked at Dupont in Chattanooga for several years before becoming a district manager with American National Insurance Company of Galveston, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, Altie Fitzgerald Sharp and Vance Sharp; sister, Ruth Sharp Davis; brothers-in-law, Dotson Davis, Donald Keylon and Dennis Hall. He is survived by his wife, Diane Amos Sharp, of Dayton, Tenn.; children, Angie (Mark) Solis, of Hixson, Tenn., Kelly Sharp (Josh Wampler) , Jeff (Monica) Sharp, of Villa Ricca, Ga., Donnie (Marti) Carr, of Statesboro, Ga.; twin brother, Coy (Patsy) Sharp, of Athens, Tenn.; sisters, Reba Keylon, Lois Hall, of Dayton, Tenn.; brothers-in-law, Donald Amos, of North Carolina, Terry Amos and Lonnie (Peggy) Amos, of Dalton, Ga.; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Service will be Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Rev. Milton Knox and Rev Clyde Fitzgerald officiating. Family will receive friends Friday, Jan. 11, 2019, from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in Rhea Memory Gardens. Funeral arrangements are by Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home, Dayton, Tenn.
