Joe Armstrong

Joseph (Joe) W. Armstrong, 83, of Harrison, Tenn., passed away Jan. 9, 2018, after suffering a coronary episode. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on March 28, 1935, to parents William E. Armstrong & Alice (Shaffer). Joe is survived by his sons Scott Armstrong (Lynn) and Joe Armstrong; stepdaughters Deborah Aseltine (Dennis), Peggy Terry (Rick), Tammy Martin (Christopher Lipski), and April Mraz (Terry Evans); stepsons Don Moore (Susan) and Mark Moore; cherished grandfather of Brandon, Cameron, Justin, Martin, and Oliver. He was actively working for Service Electric Co., in his chosen field of 60+ years, when he passed on. During his long career he made many close friends. Joe attempted hang-gliding, scuba diving, bungee jumping, skydiving, and many other activities in order to work hard but not forget to enjoy life. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019, in the chapel of Hamilton Funeral Home with Brother Richard Floyd officiating. His family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019, at the funeral home prior to the service.
