Julia Edmundson

Julia Ann Edmundson, 80, died peacefully in Chattanooga on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. Julia was born on Jan. 21, 1938, in Maidenhead, England. Maidenhead is where she met the love of her life, Ronald “Ed” Edmundson. Before settling in Chattanooga, they traveled the world with the U.S. Air Force. Settling in Chattanooga after military service, Julia worked at TVA, and later served as the secretary at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church where she was also a life-long member. Julia was full of life and never met a stranger. Among her passions were being a mother and nana to her two grandchildren. Her favorite times were listening to Big Band music, basking in the sun at the beach, and spending time celebrating life with her many friends and family. Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Edmundson; parents, George and Win Davis; sister, Audrey Beckett and brother, Gerald Davis. She is survived by her daughter, Tracy Edmundson McHugh (Bob), of Signal Mountain; grandchildren, Katie and Sam McHugh, of Signal Mountain; brother, Geoff Davis, of Bourne End, England; and many other beloved relatives in the United States and England. Funeral services will be held at 12 (noon) on Friday, Jan. 18, 2019, at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church with Pastor Barry Hildebrandt officiating. Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12 (noon) on Friday, Jan. 18, 2019, prior to the funeral service at the Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, 3204 Hixson Pike, Hixson, TN 37415. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to McKamey Animal Center or the Chattanooga Humane Society.
