Bernard Sherman

DUNLAP — Mr. Bernard R. Sherman, 74, of the Cagle Community, passed away Monday July 1, 2019, at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, Tenn. He was born in Dunlap, Tenn., on Dec. 11, 1944, to I.B. Sherman and Bertha Pauline King Sherman who preceded him in death along with his wife, Barbara Scissom Sherman; son Kirk Sherman. He was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam. He worked at Loraine Crane in Chattanooga and later he operated the Triangle Service station in Cagle for many years and worked at Camcar Textron in Spencer before his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Brenda McDaniel Sherman; son, Stan (Stefanie) Sherman; grandchildren, Tanner and Lawton Sherman, Robert and Jacob Easterly and Joslyn Sherman; daughter-in-law, Katie Stocker; brothers, Bobby (Delia) and Donnie (Jane) Sherman; sisters, Betty Dickerson, Joyce (Charles) Layne, Bertha (Jackie Wayne) Pickett, Inez Oakes and Donna Hankins. A host of loving neices and nephews; brothers-in-law, David (Dorothy) Cribbs and family, Tony (Gina) Cribbs and family. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel Minister Jonathan Hankins and Stan Fults officiating. Military Honors provided by the Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard.
