Betty Jean Adams

Betty Jean Adams was born to Hershel H. Burk and Willie Bell Burk in Springfield, Tenn., on July 20, 1929. Betty passed away Thursday, July 4, 2019. Surviving her is one sister, Alma Ruth Bollinger residing in Springfield, Tenn.; her four children; nine grandchildren and their families are: Brenda Silvey residing in St. Augustine, Fla., Connie Ruth Freeman and Raymond Bennett in Jacksonville, Fla.; Carney Brown Freeman and his wife, Norma Jean in Chattanooga. Tenn.; H. Steve Freeman also in Chattanooga; Jamie Lynn Graham resides in Blue Ridge, Ga.; Steven and Lani Hastings in Atlanta, Ga.; Kim Dunlap in Jacksonville, Fla.; Tia and Robert Thompson in Atlanta; Prudence and Mark Giles; Angela and Karey Humphries; Rickey and Page Ratcliff; Trey and Morgan Freeman; and Brittany Freeman and Josh Creech. All the grandchildren live in the Chattanooga area. Betty also leaves 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; stepdaughter, Carney Sue Freeman is in Dover, Tenn.; and stepdaughter, Cheri Lynn Carr resides in Amarillo, Texas. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 7, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
