Walter Raines

FLINTSTONE — Walter Clifton Raines Jr., 73, passed away Monday, July 8, 2019. He was a member of Old Bethel Baptist Church and worked at Combustion Engineering for 25 years. Clifton loved roses and enjoyed gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Clifton Raines Sr. and Martha Parson and granddaughter, Brandi Lummus. Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Colleen Raines; four children, Tony (Maggie) Raines of Texas, Scott (Wonda) Raines of Hixson, Tenn., Colleen (Bill) Hill, of Hendersonville, N.C., Pattie (Kenny) Correll of China Grove, N.C.; brother, Millard (Janice) Raines, sisters, Christine (Art) Lund and Elaine (Ronald) Cameron; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday and prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2019, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Pastor Steve Camp officiating. Burial will follow in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
