Barbara Watts

Barbara Louise Trundle Watts, 92, went home to be with Jesus on July 12, 2019. She was surrounded by her family in her home. As she was carried from her home, she was blessed with another beautiful sunset that she would have loved. She was a devoted wife, momma, mal, sister, aunt and friend. She was born to Grady Lee and Verna Roberta Trundle in their home at Hickory Grove Community. Barbara Attended Ringgold High School and West Georgia College to obtain a degree in teaching. She taught in the Carrollton area for one year. She then become a teacher and principal at the original Woodstation School. She later moved to Ringgold elementary and finished her B.S. degree in education at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She finished her teaching years at Ringgold elementary after 39 years. She had also served on the LSGT community at Woodstation elementary school. She was a Christian woman who lived her walk with Jesus in all she did. She was a faithful member of Woodstation United Methodist Church and Winsome Sunday school class for some 80 years. She served as a Sunday school and nursery worker for many years. She enjoyed cooking, reading, friends, sewing, volunteering, animals, caring for her garden and flowers, and especially spending time with her family. Barbara was preceded in death by the love of her life for 62 plus years, Harry Edward Watts. Also preceding her was her parents, Grady Lee and Verna Roberta Trundle; brothers, Fred Bowman Trundle and James Edward Trundle; brother in law Stephen Henry Sweet and sister in law Dorthey Trundle. She is survived by her daughter Verna Ann Watts (David) Bible, who she resided with. She will be missed in their home and lives. She is also survived by her baby sister Elaine (Gary) Jeffers; brothers; Charles Lee Trundle; grandchildren, Shawn Douglas (Lacy) Bible, Lindsey Kaylor Williams (Dionne) Harrison, Ashley Anderson (Erin) Bible, Jay Benjamin (Christine) Williams, and eleven great grandchildren, Gavin, Sydney, Lyla, Hattie, Eli, Selah, Aden, Evie, Watts, Alex, and Oliver, who all gave her much joy. The family will receive friends at Woodstation United Methodist Church from 2 p.m. until the time of service. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday July 16, 2019, at Woodstation United Methodist Church with Reverend Sharon Coely officiating. Internment will follow in the Woodstation Cemetery. The family would like to welcome everyone to the church fellowship hall after the burial for food and fellowship. Memorial donations may be made to Woodstation United Methodist Church. The family would like to say a special thanks to Amedysis Home Health and Hospice for their wonderful care. As well as a special thanks to two ladies who have become family during the past four years, Stella Mayes and Martha Flammia. “We can not thank you enough for the love you have shown to Barbara and our family. We are forever in each other’s hearts.” The family would also like to thank Sydnee Rittenhouse “For the joy and help you’ve brought to us in the last three weeks.” As well as a special thanks to Dr. Kelley Jolley for taking such good care of Barbara.
