Dorothy Crowley

ROSSVILLE — As the doves flew by and the angels sang, Dorothy Jean Crowley at the age of 80, gained her wings to go Home. Jean was born in Sparta, Tenn., then moved to Sequatchie, Tenn., to raise her family. Years later she made her final home in Rossville, Ga. Jean was of the Baptist faith and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Ringgold, Ga. She had a long career with Erlanger Hospital as an EKG Technician before her retirement. Jean loved her children, family, her friends and most of all her heart was to her grandson, Jamey Lawson who took care of her before his passing. She loved to travel and if Jean saw a Casino in sight, she was known to stop by to make new friends, enjoy the food and play the “nickel machines”. She was a lady of beauty and was loved by so many. You never met Jean without a smile on her face. Those preceding her death are her parents, Raymond and Margie Rice Scott; brother, Millard “Sonny” Ray Scott; sisters, Wanda Stephenson and Peggy Sneed; and grandson, Jamey Lawson. Those left to cherish her memories are her sons, Billy and Gary Crowley; daughter, Debra Crowley Poole (Curtis); brothers, Tommy and Jerry Don Scott; sisters, Betty Carson (Don); Helen Green (Haskell) and Brenda Skiles (Ronnie); grandchildren, Jackie Worley (Corey Redding) and Josh Baird (Stacey); six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, special friends, Starr Meade and Teresa along with a host of nieces and nephews that she adored so much. Her children will receive friends and family on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, from 5 to 7 p.m. CDT / 6 to 8 p.m. EDT at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tenn. A Memorial Service will be conducted following the visitation in the Chapel at Tate Funeral Home Pastor Greg Steele officiating. Jean will be laid to rest at a later date with her children.
