Mary Margaret Todaro
Mary Margaret Harris Gibson Todaro, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away in Houston, Texas on May 1, 2019, after a long and hard fought battle with Parkinson's
disease. Never one to complain, Mary Margaret faced her illness as she had faced other life challenges; with grace, courage, and the sheer will to make the most of each
day.
Mary Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Belle and R. S. Harris Sr.; her brother, Syl Harris Jr.; her sister, Jean Harris Lester; and her first husband, Donald
B. Gibson.
She is survived by her children, David Gibson, of Pikeville, Mary Hollingsworth (Jeff), of Signal Mountain, Betsy Barkley (Dana), of Houston, TX and Susan Coe (Robert), of
Austin, TX; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and also by the faithful love of her
later life, Chuck Stone.
Mary Margaret’s final resting place will be in her childhood home of Tennessee. Her
children, grandchildren and Tennessee family will gather to celebrate Mary Margaret’s life on Friday, July 26, 2019, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with
Rev. Scott Bowen officiating. Interment will follow in the Spring City Cemetery.
