Larry Marshall

FAYETTEVILLE — Funeral service for Chief Master Sergeant (Ret.) Larry Wilson Marshall, 78, will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. George Turke officiating. Burial will follow in Booneville Cemetery. Larry was born on Oct. 7, 1940, in Lincoln County, Tenn., to the late Clarence Wilson Marshall and Mary Sybil Rives Marshall Counts Sumners. He worked as an EMCS Systems Engineer with AEDC before retiring in 2002. He was a Past Master for Tullahoma Masonic Lodge 262, a member of Andrew Jackson Lodge 68 in Fayetteville, Tenn., a 33rd degree Mason, and Past Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star. He was also a Shriner's Road Runner, a board member for Leadership Lincoln, and a section manager of ARRL (HAM radio operators). He entered in to the U.S. Air Force on Oct. 12, 1960, and retired from the Tennessee Air National Guard with the 241st EIS in Chattanooga, Tenn., as CMSgt and Senior Enlisted Advisor. In his spare time, he enjoyed photography, collecting coffee mugs, art, HAM radio, hunting, fishing, wood working and playing with his grandchildren. CMSgt (Ret.) Marshall passed away on July 28, 2019 at Huntsville Hospital. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Peggy Marshall; daughter, Lisa Kay Marshall of Fayetteville, Tenn.; son, Walter Scott (late Jean) Marshall of Moore County, Tenn.; grandchildren, Alexander Scott Jones, Brittney Nicole (Walter) Duckett, and Jordon Marshall Lawson; and great-granddaughter Alexis Jones; and brother, Joe Christopher Counts of Fayetteville, Tenn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Roger Dale Marshall. Visitation with the family will be held at 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at Higgins Funeral Home. Masonic service will be Tuesday evening beginning at 7 p.m. at Higgins. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Attn: Office of Development, 2900 N.
