Charles Oliver

FLINTSTONE — Charles V. Oliver, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 10, 2019. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a lifetime member of Lookout Baptist Church where he served as a deacon most of his adult life. He retired from Combustion Engineering where he worked most of his life. He loved being on his tractor, working in the hay fields and gardening in the summertime. He and his wife enjoyed many winters camping in Florida. He was a loving husband, daddy and papaw. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Ora Oliver; sister, Louise (J.B) Kilgore; brothers, Elmer Oliver and Edward (Helen) Oliver. Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Mary Joyce Oliver; daughters, Melody (Bradley) Broome and Darlene (Horace) Knight; grandchildren, Terah (Ben) Curry, Melissa (Andrew) Coulter, Tiffany (Kyle) Schoenleber; great-grandchildren, Branson and Ellington Curry, Lilyanne, Hattie and Darcy Schoenleber. Funeral services will be held 8:45 a.m. Friday with Pastor Terry Burns officiating. Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
