Elizabeth Cayce

Elizabeth Jean Cook Cayce, beloved daughter, sister, mother, passed away at her home June 11, 2019. She was born in New York City on Aug. 16, 1956. At the age of two, she was adopted by Dr. Arthur J.D. and Jean Cook from Spence Chapin Adoption Agency on July 28, 1958, and lived with them in Glen Ridge, New Jersey. She moved with them to Signal Mountain and graduated from Notre Dame High School. She attended the University of Kansas but returned to Signal Mountain and went to Chattanooga State. She loved dogs, horses, college football, comedy and music. Her passion was cooking. She worked with several restaurants in town including McCallie School, Ladochvetta Italian and Atlanta Athletic Club. She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Arthur J.D. Cook. Survivors include her son, Christopher Alan Ridge; mother, Jean F. Cook; brother, Franz Cook; several cousins. Beth was a great help to her mother especially when she entertained. Although she suffered from COPD for many years, she was always cheerful. She was a loving soul and will be truly missed by all that knew her. A celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga or McKamey Animal Shelter.
