John Davenport
CENTRALIA, Ill. — John David Davenport, 71, passed away May 29, 2019 while in
Miami, Fla., visiting his daughter and her family. He was born and raised in Chattanooga.
He was a 1965 graduate of Tyner High School, a ‘69 graduate of Tennessee Tech and
pursued his Masters’s in Agricultural Engineering ‘72 from UT Knoxville.
David was the son of John H. and Reba Morgan Davenport who preceded him in
death. Also preceding him was son, Andy and his grandparents, Lester H. and Addie Boyd Morgan.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Ann, of Centralia, Ill.; his daughter, Susan
(Casey) Lowrance; and four grandchildren, Oliver, Henry, Charlotte, and Savannah of Miami,
Fla.; Also surviving David is his sister, Suzanne (Larry) Bartel, of Rising Fawn, Ga.
Funeral services were in Centralia, IL on Saturday, June 8. David was laid to rest beside his son in Little Grove Cemetery in Walnut Hill, Ill.
