Wanda Boyd
HARTSELLE — Ms. Boyd died on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at her residence. She was born
September 5, 1940, in Morgan County to Nathan Alexander Prince and Hattie
Pauline Waddell Prince. She was employed by Olan Mills Portrait Studio
retouching canvas photos, as a quality control specialist. She was a
wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. She loved
her life; from working at the dirt track 6 to 7 days a week, working with
kids baseball, soccer, volleyball and go-karts, and then still found time to
bowl professionally. She was never afraid of hard work, from weeding an acre
to fixing a truck and maintaining a dirt racetrack. She was an avid
gardener, had a green thumb and loved to watch things grow. She was a cancer
survivor, was good spirited and was loved dearly by all who knew her.
Preceding her in death were her parents, a brother: Steven Douglas Prince, a
nephew: Jason Prince, sisters-in-law: Francis Prince and Shelia Prince and a
brother-in-law: Martin Depreast. Survivors include: Three Sons:
Nathaniel Wayne Dobbins (Dana),
Scott Boyd (April) and Stacy Boyd (Gracie)
Three Daughters:
Donna Shipley,
Casandra Wilson (Joe) and Shannon Boyd
Nine Grandchildren and Sixteen Great Grandchildren
Funeral service for Wanda Prince Boyd, 78, will be Thursday, June 27, 2019
at 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wendell Prince officiating
and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Thursday, June 27, 2019
from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
