Shirley Nowlin

CALHOUN — Shirley J. Nowlin, 72, passed away Thursday June 27, 2019. Shirley was born in Chattanooga and was a member of the Sanctuary of Pentecost Church. She enjoyed reading, watching religious movies, and taking trips to the mountains. Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Lance Nowlin; parents, Chester Decker and Louise Burton; and sister, Cindy. Survivors include her husband, Douglas Nowlin; daughter, Sandy (Kenny) Fowler; sisters-in-law, Kathy Zerwer and Karen Mathis; brothers-in-law, James Mathis, Jeff Mathis, and Chris Mathis; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at 1 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Rev. Terry Timms officiating. Interment will be held in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
