Louise Steele
Louise Steele, 94, of St. Elmo, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 26,
2019. She was a native of Winchester, Tenn., and had lived most of her life in St. Elmo
where she was of the Methodist faith.
Louise was a loving wife, mother, sister,
grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was a homemaker
who loved spending time and taking care of her family and many of the neighborhood
children. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting and sewing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, L.C. Steele; parents, Hoime Myers and Cora
Yonkers; sisters, Frankie Barnes and Laura Ivens; brother, Virgil Myers; grandchild, Michael Bowen; daughter-in-law, Brenda Steele; and son-in-law, Mike Steinmann.
Survivors include her children, Lloyd (Patsy) Steele, Donnie Steele, Linda Bowen, Peggy (Bueford) Genter, Patricia Steinmann, Lisa Ridge, and Richard Steele; grandchildren, Bart (Lisa) Steele, Deidre Pool, Christina Steele, Dee Dee Steele, Amy (Eric) Ott, Butch (Elizabeth) Genter, J.D. (Kim) Genter, Fred (Amber) Genter, Mack (Lauren) Ridge, Taylor (Ross) Pace, Jesse Ridge, Alex Steele, and Mark Steinmann; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 12 noon in the South Crest Chapel with Pastor Steve Wells officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Bart Steele, Butch
Genter, Fred Genter, Mack Ridge, Jesse Ridge, and Riley Steele serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane
Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
