Maxell "Max" Howe

At the end of the evening on Thursday, May 2, 2019, the Lord said Max your battle is over and its time to come Home. Max at the young age of 86 crossed over to heavens gates leaving a blessed family, host of friends, and awesome life behind. Max was born on March 7, 1933, in Camden, Tenn., where he grew up. With his career with TVA, he traveled to many locations before making his home in Sequatchie, Tenn. He graduated from Camden High School, Camden, Tenn., then attended Bethel College, in McKenzie, Tenn., where he received a Financial Degree. After graduating college, he served in the U.S. Navy and the Korean War. Max worked for Tennessee Valley Authority at the Bellefonte Nuclear Plant along with other TVA sites as a General Construction Superintendent for 27 years until his retirement in 1988. With his love of the Baptist faith, Max was a dedicated and devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Jasper. He was also a 33 degree Scottish Rite Mason; a member of Olive Branch Lodge 297 F&AM; a member of Alhambra Shriners; National Management and Association Bell, Howe & Associates and United Association of Steamfitters Local #372 of Nashville, TN. Max loved his family and friends deeply. If you ever met Max, you loved him from the moment he said hello. He also was a huge fan of the Atlanta Braves and Tennessee Vols. Max was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Frances. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 39 years, Anna Howe; sons, Britt Ashley (Nora) Howe, Russell Bell and Eddie (Kyla) Bell, Jr.; brother, Hugh (Jane) Pugh; grandchildren, Louis Bell, III and Justin Bell; great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Grayson Bell; along with numerous friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 9, 2019, from 6 to 8 p.m. CDT at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tenn. There will be a Masonic Service at 8 p.m. CDT after the visitation in the Chapel at Tate Funeral Home. The funeral services will be conducted in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home on Friday, May 10, 2019, at 10 a.m. CDT with Pastor Greg Steele officiating. Burial arrangements have not been made at this time. In lieu of flowers, Max has requested donations be made to the Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rites and Marion County Food Bank.
